Hey all. My tank has been getting this snotty fuzzy brown stuff the past few weeks. This is a small 2nd tank I set up a few months ago. My main SPS tank has been going strong for 16 years. :-) Anyway, I keep blowing it off and changing the filter floss. It gets on the rock, sand, glass, pumps, everything. It has been getting better but still bad. It comes back the same day after blowing it off pretty much. Nitrates (Nyos) and Phosphates (Hanna) are zero which might be part of the problem. Let me know what you think it is. I attached some pics and a video of the microscope. Photos are 300x, 600x, 1200x and the video is 1200x. Boy was that hard to do! Thanks for your help!

Yep. Ostreopsis. Increase your nitrates and phosphates for the long term. Short term, UV will knock them out. 1 watt UV per 3 gallons water, plumber from DT back to DT with 1-3 tank volumes per hour going through it. Good luck.

That is the conclusion I came to researching it. Thanks! Thankfully it seems to be an easy strain to deal with. I ordered a 24W Green Killing Machine that will be here tomorrow. Overkill for this tank bit will also work on the SPS tank if needed.
