I don’t have a dino infestation, but a few new acroporas with that came with tissue recession is getting dinos on it.

It‘s making the recovery of the corals not great.

I observe that the dinos are only on dying/dead coral tissue. Healthy corals don’t get dinos on them.

I would like a suggestion.

Phosphates: 0.04ppm.

However, I had these dinos (ostreo) on coral tissue with high phosphates > 0.10ppm.

Dinos are directly feasting on stressed coral’s tissues.

Most of my corals are very healthy. It’s just the ones that don’t come in perfect condition that gets this issue.

Do you have any Lugol's Iodine you could dip them in? Sometimes that will help, but if the Acros have dinos on them, 99% they are done unless you can save a piece by fragging.

Oops.

I assumed it was dinos, but I just microscoped it and it was just diatoms from my silica dosing.

Whoops!
