Nitrate and Phosphate read zero so I’ve increased feeding and reduced the lighting time on my fuge. Still reason zero but this is starting to show up.

Is it cyano or some other algae from over feeding and reducing nutrient export or is it dinos from ongoing low nutrients?

Don’t have a microscope yet. Just trying to figure out if I need to increase or decrease feeding.

These spots are directly below my MP10s so they get more flow than it might look and it’s covering rock and sand, just easier to see in these pictures

Just looks like diatoms to me. If it was dinos you would see air bubbles. Is the tank new?

Looks like cyano and diatoms... but cyano and dinos do show up together. A microscope pic would solve the question! I think a microscope had been one of the best tank purchases i have made... no more guessing and treating the wrong thing!

Which microscope did you get? TIA

If it's like a light dusting on sand and rocks I'd say dinos ...does it clear up any when lights go out ..?
