Hello, The past week i noticed this slime algae only on my newly fragged frags. My frags arent opening at all. I would suck it up with a turkey baster and it would be back in an hour. Its starting to show up on my rocks. my tank is about 4 years old, i run a fuge with chaeto, skimmer, and run my lights for about 9 hours. Ive never had this problem before. what do you think?

Will need pics under white light intensity as these are too dark to make an educated guess.

I see a lot of surface algae which may turn to turf algae. Is your tank at or near a window?
Are you using tap water from faucet or RODI water?

its about 6 feet away from window but i have a bush outside which covers most of it. rodi and i change filters every 3-6 months depending on which one needs to be changed. i use the aquatic life 4 stage rodi so different cartridges need to be changed at different times

Yeah- that RO unit is very basic and may be allowing increase of phosphates. As for the window, the bush wont do a thing for the amount of UV which is strong and will penetrate even blinds and shades. Window is part of my suspect cause

i was thinking of upgrading to brs rodi. You think its just algae from the window?

what’s inorganics?
I meant organics but as long as inorganics are brought up, Organics are by product of waste and uneaten foods and affect water quality and are oten removed thru skimming & water changes.
Excess inorganic matter must be removed and achieved by nitrifying & de-nitrifying bacteria.
The inorganic form is essential for photosynthesis for coral tissue.
