I've been battling with this Algae issue for about 4 months now and can't seem to shake it. LFS and my reading online believed it was a form on Dinos. I've been running the tank "Dirty" for about a month (no water change, overfeeding, stopped NoPox and removed GFO) thinking I was stripping the phosphates and nitrates out of the water previously with dosing NoPox, running GFP, Algea Scrubber and skimming. Corals never really grew well, algea scrubber never grew etc... The Dino theory made sense regarding it's ability to grow in low nutrient water. I gave in last week and started dosing DinoX - I put dose 4 in last night, but it doesn't seem to be doing very much for my issue.
It's covering everything in the display but the sand bed - Live Rock, Corals, Pumps, Walls.
There is none of it in the sump - no lights but I run a covered Algae Scrubber
Tank is about 2 years old.
Something else new is I'm not sure if it's because of the DinoX or running the Tank Dirty but my Algae scrubber is full of green algae every few days where before all of this happened it wouldn't grow much at all. Also, couldn't find if I should be leaving the Scrubber off while dosing DinoX?
