Hey there.

As a collector of oddball corals I recently stumbled accross a coral that I´ve never heard of.
An LPS from the genus Diplastrea.
It was quite cheap so I ordered It right away. It should be here next week.

I cant really find any information on it online.

Are there any experienced reffers that have kept this coral and can give me some tips on placement and care? I assume from the looks of it it should be similar to a Favia.

I added some pictures from my coral (WYSIWYG) from the online shop (not my pictures, I hope this is allowed)

Greetings and happy reefing!

Very cool, diploastrea heliopora. Very similar care to favia. Medium light, moderate indirect flow. Never kept one personally but they are beautiful in person. Like favia, they do have sweepers that can extend and bother nearby corals.

Thank you for identifying it.
There was probably a typo in the online shop then.
