Dipped hammer head coral.

I dip my coral with Bayer . Seems very ticked off . Is it going to die ? SHowing Skelton. I even dose with a smaller amount that I usually do. The coral on the right is fine .

Rinse it well, put it in a healthy tank and hope for the best is all you can do.

Is it getting blasted by direct water flow? That will keep it closed up.

haven’t put it inside tank yet

I would give it a week. You will then see some improvement or it may begin to show real problems. In a fairly healthy and established tank, wall hammers do very well. This looks like a branching hammer. Those can take a bit longer to grow and to recover from stress.

Although I can’t relate to your situation, about a month ago, I cut the base of my hammer because it was about 5” tall. Tried cutting to about 3”. The hammer split in half and oddly left me with two heads from just one head. I was certain they would die. Some tentacles looked deflated and died off. This pic is immediately after it happened. I fragged them and now both have started to heal and look even better than before.

My advice: give it time. Hammers can be hardy.

Dont worry to much they always do that when they are stressed to much i have a euphylia garden and sometimes all my hammers close much worse than yours. Just put the hammer coral in the buttom of the tank where there is low low flow almost to no flow and let it stay there for 3-7 days depends on the condition of the coral and it should do fine . Looks nice! It’s common with euphyllia corals to close up like that. I have torches that closed up like that after dipping too. Usually after lights go out then come back on, they slowly creep back out.
