Hi all,
I have a gold torch that I've had for almost a week. When I received my corals from ASD live sale, I dipped everything. I kept seeing people say dip everything, so I did. Well now it looks like my gold torch is dieing. At first I just thought it was closing up from possibly too much flow. I've moved him a few times and he didn't seem to be getting any better. So today when I got off from work, I noticed that he looked even worse. A lot of coral skeleton showing. I will get a pic when the lights come back on. So, should or shouldn't we dip LPS'?

I have dipped torches in revive with no problem at all. What did you use? They can be very sensitive to flow as well. Took me over a week to get it in a spot it liked. You have to leave them for a couple days at each spot, they take a little time to show that they're happy, it's not immediate. I usually left mine in each spot for at least 2 days.

I would dip every single coral you put in your tank.( Some dips are more harsh then others. Especially If you keep expensive corals,(or even of you don't) it's much, MUCH better to lose one piece then to have your whole tank wiped out by some nasty past. IE) There are many pests that will eat LPS as well as SPS. Just be careful with softies. I usually will dip then for a shorter period of time and in a more diluted dip solution. Regarding your frogspawn, just keep it in the shade for now and try and clip the parts that are decaying if possible. Good luck

What did you dip it in?
I used Coral RX. But it looks like it is too late. I think he is a goner. If not the dip then what?

I would say definitely not the dip, I only use coral rx and ive been keeping euphyllia for around 1.5 years. Did it look unhealthy before the dip? Did you dip the correct amount for the right amount of time? Did any type of pest fall off the coral during the dip that could have done damage?

It looked healthy before the dip. I only dipped it for 5 minutes and I used the correct amount. Nothing fell off pest wise. I haven't a clue.

Its stressed. Check your parameters and make sure everything is looking good and then I would keep it in low flow and low light until it starts to heal. Looks like it was damaged or stressed in the process of acclimation or on the way home. It still looks alive just take good care of it.

Well its been in my tank for almost 3 weeks now. Just this past week it started to look like it was declining. Like I said earlier, I thought it was a flow issue. But now I'm starting to think that wasn't it.

That is not correct. I've only had it for less than a week. I was looking at the wrong shipment. My parameters are good since my last check which was Sunday.

I don't always dio but I know I should. I use Melafix or peroxide. I usually see "things" falling offf the frags with whatever I dip in. Hopefully it is just a flow issue.
