Dipping my toes in something new... And huge!

Hi guys!

I'm so excited.... My husband has given me permission to set up my 180-gal. (I think it's a 180.... 6' long, 2 feet deep, 20" tall? I'll Google it).

It's not ready yet.... Needs sanding/refinishing, chip repairs and I need to build a stand! And find more lights....

So, who's built a massive stand? Advice? Materials?

I am also repairing a nac 5 skimmer. Is that big enough? Planning on a light bio-load, because I'm going to have to leave for a few months, then possibly for a year.

Hoping that having a small bio-load while I'm gone will make babysitting nice n easy.

Thoughts? Warnings? Advice?

My advice would be wait until things have settled before setting up a tank.. leaving your new tank to a sitter for months is asking for trouble not to mention a year.

True. I came to the same conclusion and sold my big tank yesterday. I'm just going to have to be fishless for now. It's a bummer. oh well.
