Dipping - new to this and have questions, please help!

Hey, I am getting ready to start stocking my 32 gal biocube and know I should dip my corals and livestock. I've watched some videos but am still unsure of a few things and would love help!

1. Do you dip soft corals like Xenia, GSP, Leathers, gorgonians, etc., and if so, how? I don't want to hurt them. I planned on using Bayer insect killer to do my coral dips.

2. Dipping fish and inverts - do you typically do this with new fish, or do you reserve this for sickness only? Ive seen some say they do a dip before adding to the display but that seems like a good way to nuke their immune system if they arnt already sick.

One addition I forgot - I plan on most the tank being softies, I understand dipping for SPS, Im just conserned about dipping soft fleshy things I am afraid I would hurt. Are there any major pests for the softies I listed? I know zoas have pest, but I am avoiding them.

I would dip all sps. I however do not know the protocol for other corals. I’m sure someone else will chime in.

I dip everything I get. I have GSP hammer Xenia zoas Favias and acans. I utilize the Bayer dip method and it has worked out well for me. You can probably find a lot of info on it here by searching for it. I’m no expert but it is very simple and has pulled out some nasty critters for me. I float coral in tank for 15 minutes first then I make 4 bowls the first is tank water with the Bayer which I purchased from Lowe’s. I dip my coral in that for 3-5 minutes. While it’s in there I use a turkey baster to blow on the coral to dislodge anything that may be on the frag or in the coral. After this I have 3 more bowls with clean tank water. I then dip the coral in each of these for 2–3 minutes each moving them around and blowing in them with my turkey baster. These three bowls are just to clean the Bayer off of the coral. At the end I then place in my tank. Hope this helps. Again I’m no expert I learned this from someone else and it has worked great for me.
I should add that I use 10 ml of Bayer to 500 ml of tank water in the first bowl.

I do everything except Nems. I don’t know if it’s true as this is what I was told when I posed the same question but I was told nems can sometimes swallow/eat the dip and then release back into the tank when it chooses not to digest it

Thanks! This helps alot, I just wanted to know the dip and shaking around wouldnt hurt the softies, and the amounts for the dip is great too, thanks alot!
