I won a couple of LPS frags on a Facebook auction. I dipped them as soon as I got home. I have never seen so many critters come off this alveopora. There were at least 50 on a 1" frag. I used Coral Rx and iodine. A couple were obvious pods and a couple of flatworms. There were a few skinny white worms about 3mm long. I have no idea what the rest were. Some were 5mm threads attached to the skeleton. Most were little light brown ovals. Now I'm afraid to put them in my DT. Almost nothing came off the Paly. I brushed both vigorously with a toothbrush.
Right now the frags are in my QT. My question is how long does it take eggs to hatch so if I re-dip I can catch them? How long should I keep them in QT or pitch them both? They were both in the same frag tank.

Thanks

I wouldn't get rid of them! Just keep them in your QT for a few weeks to a month and watch them closely. You might want to give them a few days to a week and then dip them again. If possible, I like to remove the plug a coral comes on and replace it with a new one...this reduces risks tremendously since the plug harbors many eggs and even possible encysted ich/velvet.

If you have a magnifying glass or lens, look very closely at them every few days.
