After reading that there have been some repeated reports of possible negative reactions with DipX, my own experience included with my cyphastrea, I am wary to use it with other new frags. The most recent thread active today:

All the other frags I’ve dipped have been fine but I’m still cautious. With a few frags coming in on Thursday I’m curious as to others’ experience with specific coral.

Has anyone used Red Sea DipX specifically on Setosa, Stylophora, or Leptoseris? What was your experience and did you do anything other than bottle directions?

I have only used ReVive for my coral dip. Never had a bad experience with that product.

Never used the one you have so, unfortunately, I can't offer any advice there.

Nobody else?

I think based on all my reading I need some revive but I won’t have time to get some before my frags arrive tomorrow.

So, risk the frags with the dip or risk the hitchhikers?

Since only a cyphastrea had a potential negative reaction I’m likely going to just dip and cross my finger.

I used it once and it killed everything i used it on. Not impressed at all. Montipora and Acropora all dead in a few hours. These were all established coral frags and not brand new or freshly delivered from somewhere.

That’s what I’m afraid of.

I’ve used it on two acros, porites, and galaxea with no ill effects but who knows what it will do to future frags. The three coming tomorrow are inexpensive but still frags I want to survive.

I have been battling bacterial issues on and off now for months so my incident with the dip could be related to that. I spoke to Red Sea about it and was told I did everything I should have. Bit of a mystery. I set timers, use tank water at stable temperature etc etc. I won’t be using it again obviously.
