I bought this skimmer for my 40g and it came with zero instructions. Nada. Lol. I checked the Internet and didn't see any. Can someone help me out? The tank's not up and running yet but I want to figure out how it works.

They do not come with instructions for some reason. I believe 7 inches is the desired water level (I'll have to check when I get home from work) and mine took a while to break in,so I would set it at 2 until you start getting good skimmate. I would also not use the tube yet to empty it into another container, wait until it is broken it. I love mine!

Thanks! So the blue thing is how you set it? How far up the tube do you set the foam?

On the blue tube there should be a little Mark. Use that Mark to set. I keep mine in 8 inches of water and set at 2 1/4 to 2 1/2. You may have to break it in first so it may be a little crazy for a few days but just give it some time.

8 inches of water worked best for me. there is no mark on the blue tube, so you'll need to make a dot on it w/ finger nail polish. Set it to where the bubbles are in the neck just under where the seal of the collection cup is. This is the height to break it in. takes a few days to do so. Then I would highly recommend running the drain tube to a larger bottle b/c mine would overflow lots in the beginning til i got it dialed in. I've had 2 of these. Good skimmer for the money. Let us know if you have more questions.

Thanks! I saw some YouTube videos too. Looks like a great skimmer?
