and put a daylight LED in there.
Corals grow most on daylight.

Do you think the daylight led will reach the 24"s?

Positive.
They will come in different watts and the LED's for this are inexpensive as well, sometimes you find them on sale for $5 at HD

What watt do you recommend?

There are tons of cheap lights on Craig's list and you can buy a 165w LED dimmable light off eBay for less than $100. I would go that route and then sell it later on or keep it as a back up.

Just remember, you get what you pay for.
If a light like that a driver of the blue light goes out what's the light worth?

I know. It's a tough spot. I have a mixed reef 29biocube with a hydra 26hd. I think I need two for the 24"cube but I'm not ready to spend that yet. If I can move the softies over, buying some time to save I can start enjoying the cube and allowing it to mature for the sps.

I did test the 26 HD on. 24 cube.
With the extra possibility that you can move some channels to 140% I was able to grow SPS in there with just one light.
To a point my Inferno and Sunburst nems were splitting every month at least I had to move all SPS back into the frag tank.

That's encouraging. Did you have any issues with shadowing or spread?

No not really.
Had about 5 colonies on top, most LPS and softies below them.
I don't have the tank anymore as it was part of my total break down of the Diesel fish room and have to get my laptop back (as many pics are on there) from local police as it is used for evidence as I was bugalirezed on my truck where my laptop was in but I busted them first handed and instead of shooting them I knock them out with my hand gun and called 911.
They took my stuff that they had in a bag not sure when I get it back, laptop, laser level and notepad, ugh :(
