Dirty coral rock

I’m setting up a new system and made an absolute rookie error. I thought the coral rock was clean so put it in the tank. You guessed it, the water is now murky brown / swampy.

I turned the skimmer on. It’s been running for 48 hours. Only a slight improvement.

Any suggestions on how to clear this up or is it best to drain and start again?

To clarify, was this old live rock that was sitting dry for a long time?
