I have an evo 13.5 tank that keeps getting filthy. I have the original filtration system and added the fluval skimmer. I have been fighting with the skimmer since I got it. I finally get the level right so it's not overflowing and a few days later same thing. Also i clean my tank and do water changes every other week I feel to keep the brown algea in the sand down. O finally just scooped the top layer of sand out to see if that helped but no. I have snails and hermit crabs, a goby and 2 clown fish. I do feed every day bu only a tiny amount.

Any suggestions on keeping my tank clean! All water levels say normal so not sure how to proceed.

Thanks in advance :)

How long has it been running?

Sounds like you’re in the ugly phase of the cycle.

Rodi or conditioned tap water for source ?

Post the water params as well ....everyone have different ideas of what normal is....lol

About 6 months. I took my water to the fish gallery to have it tested since I packed my test kit. They said water parameters were normal. I use their salt water and RO water.
