I got a bunch of stuff from an older couple who was leaving the hobby (see my last post to see it) but al the stuff just seems encrusted with dead/dry coraline and the tank has algae on it. How should i clean all the equipment? What aboutr the salt residue on the tank

I would soak the stuff in muratic acid using all necessary precautions of course

Salt residue will likely come off with just plain water and some effort. Soap and water and a very thorough rinse afterward should take regular algae off. I wouldn't bother with the coraline as long as it's only cosmetic, honestly- it'll either slowly come off once in use or will get overgrown. If you do try to get it off, vinegar will do that, though I'm not 100% confident it's completely safe for plastics.

citric acid soak also can work, use a brand new scrub brush (so there's no soap/chemicals) and a razor blade to remove tough residue.

expanding foam can be cut with a knife/razor/scissors. silicone can be done with a blade.

citric acid or muriatic acid will help removing the dead coral line algae. follow proper safety precautions when doing so.
