Hi. I just tried to add a bag of Chemi-Pure in the sump near my return feed but the bag split and I now have little specks of carbon and resin in the main tank. Is this going to cause problems ?

I caught most of it , I'd say maybe a teaspoon full escaped but the tank is a small Fluval EVO Nano ( 57Litre / 13Gal ). Can't see any way how I could remove it now other than throwing the whole lot away and starting again.

Very little in the tank apart from Live Rock + CUC snails + Peppermint Shrimp + 2 Banggai Cardinals + a small rock with mixed Mushrooms & Zoas.

Intention right now is to do a 20% water change and rinse the filter foam then wait and see :-(

IMHO, given your saying you got most of it, I think you'll be OK. I'd do more frequent testing for awhile and be ready to do a water change if things go haywire.

Good luck.

I had a bunch of Rox 0.8 carbon pieces sneak out of a filter bag and go throughout my tank once. Little black specks throughout my sand. I used a very small hose to create a vacuum suction and tried to suck up as many pieces as possible into a small micron filter sock into the sump (so as not to lose water). That and normal water changes with vacuuming my sand has gotten it all out over time.

I think you'll be OK...

Yeah,
If you could get some clear tubing, then make a siphon and suck some of it out in a tub or bucket below your reef.

Been using the Python "No Spill" since the 80's... ;Oldman

Which should work, added the Amazon tube when I went Bare Bottom.

Switched to Actinic light tonight and I can see the Chemi-Pure resin is fluorescent ! That will make it easier to pick up tomorrow with the AquaVac
