Well tonight when trying to work on overflow. I had to place an old heater in the tank to maintain temp. Well just so happens that the heater had a short. Went to grab something out of the tank and ended up getting electrocuted, making me grip the tank and couldn't let go. Causing me to have the tank tip over on me. Broke the tank.

What can I do to make sure this doesn't happen again....if my dad let's me have another tank

Oh wow, looks like that needs to be stitched! This could have been so much worse! Do you have your equipment plugged into a GFCI?

Also did a decent number to the carpet. My dad is not happy and he says there's not going to be another fish tank...which ticks me off because this doesn't happen often and it was an accident that couldn't have been helped.

Any time you have electrical equipment around water, it needs to be plugged into a GFCI outlet. I'm no expert and probably someone else here can explain it a lot better than I can!

I don't know your dad, but being a parent, this probably really scared him! This accident could have been much worse!
Well at first I did then got excited when I acquired a reef keeper and didn't think about it
Don't forget again, okay! :)

I don't see it....he is a jerk...like I said before he didn't care about me, he was worried about the house.

Sorry for your loss hope you heal fast "if you need any help with restocking your tank I would gladly contribute!
