Discosoma regeneration from mouth?

Stressed a discosoma mushroom by dipping that was already under pressure from a long cross country shipment. It disintegrated into long strings of translucent slime. Here is the odd thing. The mouth seems to have stayed behind. The picture is not great but it's the best I could do, popping through layers of cyano slime on my gravel. Anyone ever heard of this? Could it's celome and digestive system still be alive and potentially regenerate?

With all of that cyano on your gravel, I think even if it is possible, which I do not know if it is, I dont think it would be likely

Any piece that is not infected has potential. That said normally the only pieces not infected are ones you would cut off before they turned to slime. I think in this case it’s not likely.
