Discouraged with my impatience :( I know better!

Last year I brought home a fish from a LFS I hadn't visited before and unfortunately brought ICH into the tank. It was quite the process but I managed to get through it and although most of the fish were begining to show pretty bad distress when I caught it I managed to save all but one.
Tank has been great since and I've come to really only trust one store now. Stopped in today and they had a great price on a beautiful Emperor Angel that I couldn't pass up. Came home, acclimated very well and put it in the tank. Looked great, acted great, even ate a little right away.....than I noticed the spot, and one more!
Jumped into action and got the QT running real quick and moved it over. I'll treat it through a course of Coppersafe and hope that the six of so hours in the DT didn't infect it.
Feeling pretty low for being impatient and not QT'ing first. Hopping I'm not going to be dealing with the whole process all over again

Let's get the obvious of the of the way first.

Following the first ICH infestation, was the display tank fallow for the recommended 76 days to clear the tank of any remaining ICH? If not, there is a chance that you still had ICH in your display tank and any newly introduced fish or stressed fish could catch it.

Regardless, if you continue to skip the QT process, no matter how much you trust your LFS, you will run the risk of ICH and other infections coming into your tank

The display was fallow for almost 90 days. I tried tank transfer first. That seemed to work but I waited a few days to observe before moving them back and saw it starting again so I moved to Coppersafe. Made sure to run the complete course and then watched for a bit after to make sure they were all clear to move them back.

Okay that's good to hear about the 90 days. I hope the fish is fine and it ends up being something random and not an infection. That being said, if you do confirm that the new fish reintroduced ICH to the tank, seems you may have to go another round going fallow and treating your livestock.

I'm also impatient regarding QT, I actually buy pre-quarantined fish from either TSM or Dr. Reef. It's certainly more expensive, the peace of mind is worth it IMO, and then I get to plop the fish right in the tank on day one.
