I've been treating it in copper safe for about 2 weeks with no results

What disease are you treating it for? I can see it has some torn fins, but that's about all I can see.
 
Looks to be a Fungus type disease to me.
 
I can't even take a shot at it, I don't see what we are looking for. ??
 
i've heard of people using cipro for their fish which is an antibiotic... but if its fungal can you use metronidazole(flagyl) ??
 
I would shoot very well maintained water in the QT with daily water changes with some antibiotics. Than finish off with some preventative treatment for parasites.
 
You sure its a disease and not another fish picking at him at the LFS?
 
thanks guys I appreciate your help and I believe the fish is getting better on its own it's eating well and the swelling on its side and Finn seems to be getting better
 
It could be lymphocytosis also. If it is you just need to maintain pristine water conditions and feed well.
