Disease diagnosis needed for Yellow Tang

After introducing two cleaner shrimp to my tank, I’ve lost both my clownfish, both my banggai cardinals and my lawnmower blenny within 3 days . They all seemed to have severe ich or velvet.

My yellow tang is the only one surviving; it also was covered in with spots at first, which resolved with heavy feeding, adding garlic and Voogle (no QT available to dose medication).

When looking at the tang this morning I saw several red spots/wounds all over his body and pale white patches and white spots again.

Does anyone have an idea which disease infected my tank and is still infests my yellow tang?

That does look like the beginning stages of marine velvet.

Unfortunately the tang hasn’t survived . Now I have no fish left.

Could the timeline match with infection with velvet brought in with the cleaner shrimp and sea urchin? The lawnmower blenny died two days later...

It was velvet I purchased cleaner shrimp and snails in November 2019 within 4 days all my fish were dead tried to save the last 2 but they ended up dying in QT

End stage ich is commonly mistaken for velvet, which is much more rare. I see ich on that yellow tang. In the absence of gasping/rapid breathing, as well as the drawn out mortality over days, I would say it was ich. Reef safe medications virtually never work once an ich infection becomes acute. Sorry for your loss. The best course of action would be to set up a quarantine tank and leave your display empty of fish for 75+ days.

Do you advise to raise the tank temperature as well during the fishless period?

And what about adding new coral to the tank in the same period?

If the corals can tolerate it, yes raising the temperature to 81 f. can reduce the fallow period, by a couple of weeks. Adding coral is problematic - a dealer near me keeps tangs in their coral trays for algae control, and I’ve seen ich on them, so you would bring ich in by moving corals from them....
