Hello,

Trying to get some help on identification, I have gone through the pictoral index and don't seem to see anything resembling this.

The bump/sore in the picture is protruding and seems to be spreading to other fish rather quickly.

Is that a new clown? Were any of your fish QT'd? Heavy breathing by any of the fish? Flashing or scratching? What was the last wet thing added to the tank without QT?

I apologize for asking a question and then not responding but I wanted to update this just in case it helps someone out in the future.

The clown in this picture is new, in a 90 gallon QT partitioned into 3 sections, running a concentration of cupramine @ 0.2mg/L. I had also added a flame angel and powder brown to the other 2 sections all at the same time. The flame angel developed a similar lesion rather quickly and after I posted this picture I noticed the powder brown was gill scratching but not showing any other telling signs of infection.

From the powder browns behavior I started to suspect flukes and performed a FW dip. Sure enough about 5-8 worms quickly became visible and were dislodged in the fresh water. I dipped the other two fish with the same results and noticed that the spot in the picture is where a fluke/flat worm was anchored in.

I moved the fish into a sterile QT system dosing prazi pro and kanamycin. All three fish are doing great, no flashing or scratching and the lesion/sore is about all the way healed on both the clown and flame.

I appreciate your response and help R2R.
