Hi everyone,

Need some id what that could be on my Purple tang. I am going through hypo right now, and I have bunch of different tangs in this tank and its only one like that. I am positive it's not ich because even Achilles doesn't have a single spot.
Thanks

When you look real close at the white spots are they very small salt crystals or very small cottony/cauliflower like balls?

I’d do a dip I’m thinking flukes possibly

I'm wondering if you are dealing with some hypo resistant strain of worm.

I will start bringing salinity back tomorrow, will see if that's ich or not. I will dose Prazi, when done with hypo

I don’t think this is flukes. Flukes are hard to see in the fish except when on the eyeballs. Flukes are bigger and distinctly shaped like sesame seeds. If it’s flukes, the fish will twitch like it’s trying to shake something off. With ich, they tend to scrape against the substrate or rocks.

Looks like the “mystery disease” to me. See pics below for comparison:

It typically happens following copper exposure with certain fish, but I personally believe it is probably a virus. Copper just triggers the outbreak. Similar to Lymphocystis, but presents more on the body instead of the fins/spines.
