Hello,

Came home from vacation to the below Wednesday. It’s mostly remained the same, if not a bit worse. Primarily impacting purple tangs and cleaner gobies. Is not behaviorally impacting anything. Appetites still good. Other fish species either not impacted yet or minimally.

I do QT. I was burned badly by velvet and quit for decade in the past out of disgust. 30 days, watch and wait. In return I was greeted by trojan horse dragonettes.

I had thought ick, and figured I could do ick management... grudgingly. Now I’m not so sure. Sigh.... this one really hurts.

More photos upon request, and thanks in advance.

Looks like a severe case of Ich but in couple of the photos it’s almost looks like velvet. However, if it were velvet I think you would have already experienced livestock loss considering it’s Monday and you noticed it Wednesday of last week.

You definitely need treat all fish in QT with copper for 30 days.

Run DT fallow for 12 weeks to starve out the parasite.

Sorry you’re dealing with this!

Yuck. I agree. They’d be dead. I don’t know why it’s such severe ick. I don’t think I can house all the live stock in QT tanks... I QTed into it, but over time.... Doesn’t ick usually improve overtime? In the past, before I QTEd it would sometimes show and disappear on a hippo tang... These purples have it bad though...
