Hello, semi new to reefing. My tank has been up for about 7 months now. I recently added some new fish from my QT to my DT. My Toby puffer seems to be rubbing up on rocks which I thought was odd. I took a closer look and it seems as though there might be ich or velvet in the tank. I know I need to transfer all fish to my QT and treat accordingly but my question is could someone identify if its ich or velvet? My diamond goby is going crazy with cleaning the sandbed, thats why there are so many particals in the water column if anyone was wondering.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Identifying fish disease from just a picture is tough. I don’t see anything in the pictures that would lead me one way or another. The fish does seem pale. The main initial symptom of velvet is rapid breathing. Ich starts with salt sized white spots and no rapid breathing. Flukes generally shows as pale coloration and scratching/flashing.

Thank you for the info, I believe I might have been overreacting a bit. All fish look healthy and happy now.
