Hi everyone,

looking for help identifying disease on my clownfish. I had a pair, the smaller of the two passed from what I thought was brook. I set up a quarantine, dipped the other in ruby rally and added metro to the QT. Yesterday the remaining clown also started showing signs of disease and looked worse this morning. I’m continuing the rally dips (can’t find formalin) but just wanted confirmation that I’m treating the right disease. Included are pictures.

appreciate all the help!

That does look like Brooklynella still. Can you post a short video under white light to help confirm?
Too bad formalin is so hard to get, it really does work best for this.

Just did a 5 minute fresh water bath and most of it came off, still some around the gills. Going to put him back in the QT with metronidazole and hope for the best

Rally pro would work, but takes longer and quick cure also works. See Aquanest .com where you may be able to get formalin

Realize this step offers temporary relief and is Not a cure

Yes, can confirm this is Brooklynella, the video showed the classic symptoms. If the metronidazole doesn’t stop it, you might consider daily FW dips to try and help it.

Will do, I’m hoping it pulls through, how long does it usually take to clear with treatment? (Just rally, freshwater dips and metro)

If the regimen works, 2 weeks to reduce symptoms to negligible.
