Disease on Duncan coral?

A yellow fuzz is growing on the bone of my Duncan, it seems to be closed all the time now. Does anyone know what this could be and how to treat it?

I don't think it's dead, it just closed up when I moved it to its side to take a picture

At the very least, glue it upright, ideally to a frag disc or something,,, you can move it into some light flow and monitor.
I'd dip it at this point, just for fun,,, it's not attached to anything right now anyway.
*does look pretty bad though,,, was just more wondering why it's left laying on its side -- that's not ever going to self-correct

What about the other coral in your tank? That Duncan is not looking too hot

I've moved them both to a lower location with less PAR and set them upright, any recommendations on a dip?

I assumed you probably had a preferred coral dip that you already use for new corals.
If not, there are many on the market but, really, I don't think I'd go out of my way to buy something just for this coral.
*more like research which dip you'd prefer and buy for future introductions
I've always used CoralRx until recently my LFS gave me some DipX to try... no idea if either is better but I just use what's on hand

Hey @Pichu how did your Duncan do? Did it recover? I know this is too late but could that have been a nudibranch? I had a Duncan that sick and died so fast it made my head spin. It was one of the healthiest corals in my tank and in 6 months went from 2 heads to over 12. Then one day I notice the flesh coming of his trunk. I dipped in an Iodine type dip but the next day 3 of its heads just slipped off the stalk completely. I removed it from the tank. So sad. I love the Duncan’s.

I see this is kind of old but it appears to be a sponge. Shouldnt harm the coral but it could be gently scraped off. I have also had duncans in fairly heavy flow and high light, Didnt happen overnight but they are usually pretty resilient corals. If its still kicking I would suggest as someone else did mount it on a rock or frag plug, I have had them actually grow their flesh onto what it is mounted on.
