I have a melanusaurs wrasse that I've had for 2 years. I got him from a fellow reefer who had him for a long time. He has always had cloudy eyes but has been able to eat and navigate with no issue. He recently has not been come g out of the sand bed during the day. I dug him out today and he swam around and was bumping into things like he can't see any more.

Could this be a disease or is it a sign of old age.

Likely an infection of some sort. Or Popeye. Can you move the fish to a QT?

Kanaplex usually will take care of this, you can also add Furan-2 and metroplex to the mix if you would like.

If he is over 5 years old, my guess is old age. My christmas and solar both died around 5 years with me and they deteriorated slowly. Very sad to watch. Circle of life can be harsh.

Yea I'm sure he's every bit of 5 years. I have another wrasse in qt right now. I can set up the hospital tank if I need to but his eyes have been like this since I got him 2 years ago

One reason I only get young wrasses and anthias now. Prefer to have them as long as possible.
