Our Duncan has had some trauma and I'm not sure if it's going to recover or not. Also don't know if it's some kind of disease or just dying from injury.
I dropped a huge rock on part of it a few weeks ago and then not long after I discovered aiptasia growing on the Duncan base and I'm sure stinging the hell out of it. I super glued the aiptasia but it may be too little, too late.

Unfortunately that one looks like it's almost gone. It could have been from the trauma of the rock, if it was severe enough. Was it fine just before that accident? Unless the aiptasia were unusually large or numerous, I don't think they'd account for much of what I see there. Duncans are fairly tough, it still might recover but I don't think the odds are good.

Oh it was great before the rock landed on it. Thriving. Then my dumb butt dropped a big rock on it I was trying to get out of the tank.
I didn't think the aiptasia alone would have done it but maybe combined with the trauma of the rock hitting it.
I have a friend that if I can get to his place this weekend (depends on conditions of the roads) will try and frag the healthiest heads off and see if we can let them recover on their own.

Dont feel bad! I've been nothing loving and caring to my candy canes and they just keeled over and died. Actually they're still dying. I'm down to one head that's maybe a 5th of its original size. The rest are bleached.

does not look good, but you can add blue and reduce white intensity and assure you have:
Temp 77-79
ph 8.1-8.3
salinity 1.024 - 1.025
nitrate < .10
phos < .04 - .06
Ammonia < .03
mG 1300 - 1350
Alk 8-11
CA 400- 440

You may have a chance.

I don't know how close any of my parameters are to those even before this when it was exploding in growth lol. Before the accidents it had like tripled the number of heads.

I kind of forgot about this thread actually. I moved the Duncan up some so that it would get a little more movement and stop getting sand tossed on it.
It hasn't really gotten better but it hasn't gotten worse.
