Disinfecting powerheads

I've got a number of vortech powerheads in the mail. Question: will a bleach bath compromise the units' integrity and/or discolour the units?

soak in vineger & water it disinfects and i clean my pumps in it

Will a vinegar bath kill ich topohonts and velvet? I'm wary of using it, as well, as I've heard that vinegar causes problems with vortech products.
