Hello all,

I purchased 3 female Dispar Anthias about 8 months ago. Went through a 3 week QT and placed them in my 150g mixed display. They have been doing very well and are beautiful and active fish. I kept expecting one of them to transition to male. Well all of the sudden it happened and it seemed very fast. Came home today and he was very proud to show off his Mohawk and herd the other 2 females around the tank. I was super excited and wanted to share.

It was very hard to get pictures but you can definitely tell here (they are very fast!). I would love to add some more females to this harem, thinking 3-4 more. What are your thoughts?

Thanks,
Thomas

Very cool!

I've got five dispars, and love how peacefully they shoal together - especially when compared with the equal number of P. marcia in the tank, which neither school well nor are particularly peaceful! Nice to see your young male, and get a clue what to look for in a maturing male.
