Has anyone tried keeping two different species of clownfish in the same 120+ gallon tank? I have a pearl eyes Clarkii in my tank, and I've been toying with the idea of adding an Oscellaris clown to the tank as well since I've never had one, but I'm concerned they won't cohabitate peacefully. Thoughts?

I know we have some fish compatibility experts at [HASHTAG]#REEFSQUAD[/HASHTAG] who could help you!

I've house percula and clarkii in the same tank before, no fighting at all, just had four anemones in the tank and they all took to their respective areas.
this was in a 65 gallon tank.. at 120+ you should have no issues

It really varies, some species are more aggressive than other, some individuals within a species are more peaceful or more aggressive. In a 120 both prs should coexist, I have kept the 2 species together, but things may change if either pr starts laying eggs.

Just to show it does vary, I originally started with what I thought was a pair of Perculas in my 120g. Turns out I actually had one Perc and one Ocellaris. Everything was great for about three months, until it wasn't so great for the Percula :(. No experience with the Clarkii's though so this may all be mute!

@dbl , that just shows the odd ball behavior of clownfish. With my first pair of true percs, the female killed every male i paired her with. then i got a mocha ocellaris and she bonded with him.

I have 4 different species in my 75, not to many problems I have 2 nems. As long as the ocellaris and percula stay away from the bigger Clarkii clowns they don't n really fight just run at each other. Been that way about 8 months now

There's plenty of space in a 120, my Clarkii were in my 75 a whole year before I put in the ocellaris and percula. They swim and eat together

Just to be clear, I only have one Clarkii, not a pair. I don't know if the Oscellaris will be a single individual or a pair.

Yeah they will have confortation for a little while but they will Mello out but yeah u have chance of one killing the other
