Has anyone else ever kept or seen any branching coral line algae (kind of like a gorgoreon)

Currently planting my DT with prolifera after giving up on a 3 year hunt for sea grass. My goal was to get a algae that would only grow on the sand bed, after a lot of thought the prolifera was the best option for me as if it tries to climb up the rock work it won’t be hard to remove. Hopefully this will give my wrasses and CB a new hunting ground and the chromis love to hide in it.

I was looking at adding Caulerpa ashmeadii in the back part of my tank as a background macro since it can get as tall as 12". Has anyone had this macro in their tank and have any pictures to share on how it looks in the tank?

Thanks, still a young project the epoxy I’ve used to keep the algae in place is still visible, hopefully it will grow densely in the coming months

O find the red grape cooler, the green one tends to grow dense like cheeto. But it is a fast grower if the main goal is nutrients, for looks id go with red grape

For those that have Caulerpa Prolifera, has it gone sexual on you?

The macros I collected down in the keys turned my 10 gallon green twice now. By green I mean couldn’t see more than 5” into aquarium.
First time was one of the mermaids fans, and next was Caulerpa Prolifera.

The first time I freaked and did a huge water change. Next time I just put in an air stone for extra oxygen and a filter sock with a bunch of carbon; water was clear the next day. None of my inverts seemed to mind at all.

I have no clue what triggered it either time. Only 1 of 5 mermaids fans did it, and it was the largest one.

When the caulerpa did it, most of it went white and I only have a tiny piece left now.

Im reevaluating which macros I will put in my 60 cube and could use guidance from some of you with amazing macro tanks.

Does the green water affect corals or fish? My inverts were not affected at all.

Ive been using different caleurpas for years and never had any issue myself with it going asexual, was your auto top up near the macro algae by any chance?
