Does anyone have any inputs/experiences with macro algea (like dragons breath) in their SPS display tank? I've got cheato in the sump but just wondering peoples take on macro algea in the display.

I like the dragon's breath algae and it really adds color to a tank that is hard to achieve with corals. Reds are a difficult color to keep as bright as this algae. However even though I really like it, so do my tangs. They eat it as fast as I can put it in the tank. It is like catnip for them.

I'm a big fan of macros in a display. I can't keep it though because of my tang. I do have a separate prop tank/anemone tank that I keep lots of macro in. Dragons breath, blue ochtodes, violet dream, ulva. I just ordered a few more. I'm pretty much hooked on macros. I want all different kinds. Some of them are nicer than corals.

Hard to keep macro alive in an SPS tank that requires ultra low nitrate and phosphate. Choose either not both.
