I'm going to have a 40b for a refuge under my 180g upgrade and am wondering if the 2 Kessil A150W 15000K Ocean Blue's I have will work for lighting my Refugium or if I'm going to need to figure out something else to light it?

probably not enought spread. but shure why not.
macros do lke a fuller spectrum. R & O & Y

I guess my main concern is if the 15k Ocean Blue spectrum will grow marine macroalgaes well or not?
green plants prefer B R O Y parts of the spectrum.
Red Likes B G Y.
Not familiar enough with those lights to say if they have enough of those.
Worst case scenario(since you already have them) add a Warm(28k to 48k) Led strip Between them.(or finnex planted tank light)
OR a "pink" grow strip. (that might look funky)
with the 2 kessel & warm strip combo it should make for a great display(looks count) with great growth AND will grow corals too.

To put it simply, you want a fuller spectrum for plants, not the reef Blue spike. So fill in whats missing, with a lamp of equal intensity. that will grow them best.

Another simple answer, yes it will grow algea, look at the funk some guys here get in their DT:D
