Planning a 40 cube display refugium for the 90. Asking for recommendations as for flow, depth of sand recommended, im thinking no ph, will possibly have a few fish but what else should I have besides a cuc, planning several macro algae and mangroves. Thinking around 10 or a little less turnover.

I think fish would eat the small critters, which is one of the reasons to have a 'fuge in the first place. Maybe you just want another tank (NOT that there's anything wrong with that....). :-)

Of ur making a 40 DT under your tank plumbed in don't call it a fuge.
Fuge is for deep sand tons of macro algae and a plant growing light.
I'm really thinking about plumbing in a 10gal frag grow out tank in line with my sump.
But I'm keeping my fuge.
So maybe you can do both?

Well my sump is an old wet dry sump, no real area for a fuge, was planning to replace it but am afraid to take the end off the stand with water in it. Am shutting down the 40 soon and will have a spare tank that I can plumb into the existing sump and have a decent fuge. If added fish may be like a pair of clowns or something, will not have many fish just plants and macro!!

I've seen display fuges, and they really are very nice! I guess the best way to help you with these questions is to ask what your purpose is behind it. If it's for nutrient export with macro, then you could have a fish or two in there with no issues (just know ahead of time that they will reduce the amount of pods in there). I have thought about doing something like this myself just for nutrient export and maybe keeping some fish that isn't coral friendly or maybe some inverts that aren't fish friendly. :) There are a lot of decorative macros that would look really nice in one of these.

I have a display sump type thing. I have my skimmer on one side with cheato in same side. Zoas and mushrooms with some of the fancier macro algae in the middle with my clowns in it. The return pump is on the other side.

This will be mainly for nutrient export. Not wanting to have a lot of fish, mainly like a planted tank with macro algae and such. Now my nitrates are almost 0, phosphate Is from .03-.05 but I am getting some algae growth In tank and on glass so I know my phosphate are higher than what my test shows. Mainly an experiment and so I could grow some stuff to feed the tang and foxface.

A planted macro algae fuge would be cool. But I wouldn't put any fish in it.
They would eat the bristle worms , pods, etc etc.
What about seahorses instead of fish!?
That would be sweet! A 40 seahorse macro algae and gorgonian coral and sponge display fuge.
I like it!
