Anyone have one?
I'm thinking about setting up a 30g next to my DT with a 30g fuge in the middle of the stand. Sound like a good idea? Anyone have something like this?

I have a 55 gal Display Refugium set up next to my 65 gal DT. I have another 75 gal DT that needs to be drilled before I start setting it up (perhaps the end of summer). You can see my diagram in this thread http://www.uberfrags.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3782&highlight=display+refugium I know it takes a while for these things to get going, but I'm not as happy as I thought I would be with this. I did have a lot of pods growing in it, but I had to move a yellow tang into it (due to agression) and I had to stop feeding the phytoplankton because of the planaria flatworm explosion. I have a LOT of chaeto growing in it, but that doesn't seem to help keep down the algae in my DT. I have a deep sand bed in half of the tank (haven't gotten around to getting the sand for the other half). I've had it up probably 3 months, so maybe the DSB just needs more time, but I thought at least the large amount of Chaeto would help. I haven't given up yet - I've heard great results. Also, I hope my pods will come back (even without phyto) once I move the tang back (which will be soon - it appears the other fish that he was attacking died anyway)

There are also good articles about refugiums and DSBs at wet web media

Hope this helps. Please post your progress and results - I'm interested in comparing and learning from others.

I was thinking about doing the same thing with my 175 bow and just grow nice types of macro like prolifera and mexicana. I'll see if I can get some pics up after it is running.

These are old pics but you get the point
