Disposal of Test Kits

Is there a proper way to dispose of old/expired test kits?

Depends on the kit. Some have nasties that are better sent to a landfill than down the drain.

The very best idea is to take it to a town hazardous material collection day and see if they take it. Do most people do that? No.

I'd imagine most people toss them in the trash...

Never really thought about this. I guess if you use the all the tests, you end washing it down the sink anyway. I would imagine though unless this was on a huge scale, it would be so diluted it wouldn't really have an impact. I could be wrong though .... Lol

Only takes a teaspoon of oil to contaminate an entire reservoir. So, I'm thinking small amounts are still a potential issue here.

I'm sure I ate at least a teaspoon the last time I was under my truck changing the oil... haha
