Hi Randy-

I am looking to dose kalk via the vinegar i am already dosing into my fish only tank. Several reasons for this... Mostly that my RODI is connected directly to the tank for ATO (with several fail safes), dosing from an RODI reservoir is not an option here.
I also will not have a large requirement for Cal and ALk, as it is a fowlr and i am just looking to keep up with coralline growth.

I found that i am able to dissolve 32 tsp pickling lime into a gallon of vinegar before it starts precipitating out. Does this sound about right? I read that you used to dose kalk and vinegar together.

Any other concerns with doing this as far as possible bacterial blooms, time of day to dose ect?

Thanks for the help!!

I don't know off hand how much dissolves, but that seems reasonable.

I dosed lime-saturated vinegar for a while. It is a good way to offset the pH drop that comes from dosing vinegar and other organics.

I dosed it in the late AM so that the bacteria consume it during the day when the O2 is naturally highest. Just don't dose in the late evening for that reason.
