I'm working on designing a 150 gal sumped system that I want to build with a false wall around it. Planning on a Synergy Reef Shadow overflow with the sump directly below the display tank.

How much space do I need between the tank/stand and the wall to allow for my plumbing? Trying to build the tank behind a bar that I will be putting in and trying to keep the bar mostly parallel with the adjacent wall.

That picture has a 24" bar (am going to have to make it a little deeper since a kegerator is ~26 inches) with 3'3" between the bar and front of tank, a 2' tank, and 8" behind the tank. Wondering if I need to bump up the distance behind the tank or if I can reduce it to something like 6" or less.

ok Bullet, I have a 20 synergy overflow on my tand. the overflow plus the gate gate sticks out a good 8.38 inches. I have a fishroom behind this tank so it's no problem. You also have to leave enough room to adjust the valve as well. You could always place the valve under the tank between the tank bottom & sump. HPIM8433.JPG

You're awesome. I appreciate the precision, haha. I'm going to have the tank about 42" from the ground, so I'll have plenty of room to put the valves under the tank. I think I'll leave a solid 8" between the tank and wall.

Here's the current plan in progress. Still a lot of figuring out to do. Bottom is an older render. Might be a 6' tank.....
