Hello, I have a Bashsea signature series sump and I want to place two Varios 8 return pumps in the return chamber.

This leave only about 1/2” between the inlet and the wall... is that enough space?

The picture shows one pump, but there will be two facing opposite directions.

It should be enough for the pump. I think the bigger risk may be running without an intake strainer. Worst case you might get some vortex formation if your sump water depth is not adequate and the flow rate is high. The strainer helps to break up vortices. The sump wall may actually help to break them up as well. My guess is that with two pumps your flow rates will be low enough that it will not b an issue.
