Leah; the title of this thread you used, & your opening post, reads like a protest against this hobbie, & a protest against a particular public aqaurium, even if that was not your intention.
A protester against this hobbie, posting on this forum would rightly be considered a troll.
You asked for peoples opinions & you got them.
People would feel defensive, & react. Many people are fed up with the self righteous moralistic lecturing from groups & individuals telling every one else how bad they are to nature & animals.
You have been, to some extent, misunderstood in this thread.
Offensive posts have been removed.
Forget about this thread, ignore the taunts & move on.
A a newbie, continually returning to this thread to aggressively argue, with sarcasm, is not a good look.
You are an experienced hobbiest. Go & browse the forum & maybe you can give some good advice to someone who needs some help?
@Leah, this is a perfect site to help others with your knowledge, if you so choose. If you venture beyond this thread, you will see an awesome community and many people looking to learn. And on the flip side, there are many people willing to share their knowledge and what they have taken from the hobby.
Please start a build thread so we can learn more about your tank and your journey through this wonderful hobby

Leah, over the years, I have been a member of almost every national forum out there. Realistically, this is actually on of the friendliest I've ever been on. I'm sorry your first post here came across as so inflammatory to some members, but we are all crazy enveloped in the hobby and welcome all new members. You have an incredible little soft coral reef that I'm sure I speak for many when I say we'd love to see and hear more about it. Don't let this thread ruin your experience here and I hope you go on to learn, make friends, and pass your knowledge and love of marine life on through future posts! Would love to see real corals growing in a display like that. However, I understand the husbandry. These are strictly decorations. They don't have to worry about damage to them by the livestock. I see no problem at all.

I hate to spark this God awful thread up again.. but imo @Leah you are wanting opinions about the video and upset at some of the feedback.. I get. How some of the replies were a little harsh but please keep in mind.. it is nothing against you.. it's stated opinions that you asked for.. but in the thread you seem very upset and completely off the topic.. how does being a male or female have anything to do with your original post? I am female and I absolutely LOOOOVE R2R.. honestly I couldn't not wouldn't have the tank that I do today if it were not for this forum and everyone that is always so eager to help.. I could care less if I were the only girl or not.. the topic is about our aquariums and things in it.. not if your male or female.. stick around girl.. you will see how helpful everyone is when you need them.. good luck and I'm sorry you had a bad experience for your first post
