So I ditched the plan for a refuge in the largest portion of my sump. The sump is a 20long with the return in the middle.

Now That extra area may have saved me. Do you think this is a good idea.
I want to run two 352 gph (at 4ft) pumps to return water from the sump to tank. My overflow is rated for 700 but i will easily loose that 2+gph with the few 45 degree and 90degree elbows. anyway.

My protein skimmer (octopus 110nwb) has a pump rated for 250gph. Should I use a T in my drain line, have most of water go through smaller (left side chamber) run through the filter sock. Than have in the right chamber my protein skimmer with a controlled amount of water adding to it from a ball valve? two pumps in middle chamber for the return.

thanks in advance :]

I have never ran two return pumps, but I will say I wouldn't risk getting that close to the max of the overflow. If a snail or some debris gets caught in the teeth it could be possible that it wouldnt be able to keep up.

You could tee off the drain and split it up like you said. If you are going to have baffles in it I would highly reccomend it because the skimmer chamber will need a water source to have something to skim.
