DIY 2-part dosing (baking powder, and Calcium)

And found that you can make your own two part.

What are your guys take on this?
Safe?
Measurements?

I'm new to SPS I don't want to loose a lot of coral.

It Is safe, and fairly easy, but I like to use the BRS 2-part because:
1. I do not have to put it together. Easy
2. Always the same consistency.
3. Does not cloud the water
