DIY 20gal sump without skimmer

Ok so I have this stupid stand that only has 17” of clearance space and so I figured skimmer out or hob. So I went into petco and caught the $1gal deal and went ahead and got the 20gal long. Does anyone have or know how to set up some kind of sump that doesn’t include a skimmer? Maybe like socks fuge live rock things like that. Maybe even placing some small media reactors in one chamber or socks and fuge then return idk completely clueless but the deal got me and I hate my wet dry trickle sump so need something and I’m pretty good diy

Partition it off into 3 chambers
1st: drain with live rock
2nd: fuge
3rd: return

See that’s what I’m trying to find ok thank you so much. So one question I can think of lol with the live rock fully submerged should I just have the line that drops from my overflow just have that drop into the first chamber? Where the rock settle of like right above it? Do I even need a overflow box anymore?

Yes and that can go straight into a sock if you wish.

Ok so I want to do the sock the overflow box I have is 1 tube so should I set up the sump for just 1 sock or get an overflow that has 2 tubes going down? And make it 2 sock. 65gal tank by the way

I would just do the 1 sock. You can buy hang on the side sock holders.
