For what you’re doing, you only need those last two baffles on the far left to set your constant slimmer height. The other baffles only useful if you’re running a fuge. And even then only one of the two baffle plates required.
+1 for this ^
Additionally, a few things I have found helpful, mostly to reduce micro-bubbles in the DT are: 1. Increasing the size of the return chamber will help to reduce micro-bubbles by allowing time for air bubbles to rise to the surface before they are sucked into the return pump intake; also a bonus to having a larger return section (surface area) is that it will reduce the time between on/off cycles of your ATO. 2. I have also found that increasing the distance between the baffles allows for ease of cleaning and also slows the velocity of water as it moves through the baffle. 3. Increasing the distance the baffle sits off the bottom of the sump will also lessen the velocity of the water moving under the baffle (this also helps with cleaning) 4. position the baffles so that the water moves under and then over, this helps with bubbles by giving time for the bubbles from the overflow and skimmer to rise to the top of the water surface and disperse without being sucked through the baffles.
