First pass. Silicone was messy, no bracing. So had to redo it.

Nicely done! I built tank but it was too ugly to use and the glass ended up not being cut square as well :P Looks like yours turned out great.

Cutting the glass was a pain. 3/4 inch is a pain to cut. Used a tile saw with new thin kerf diamond blade. Since I had 2 panes I used one as a guide to cut the other one. I did have some chipping/edge issues but covered it with addl glass for look and strength. See pics below for external glass bracing as well

Most of the glass shops locally did not have the tools to cut anything above 3/8 or 1/2. I think the snap tool is different once it goes above 3/8. For the sump 1/4" glass I bought a set from Amazon from IMT and it worked great for upto 3/8".

Nice job. In late 80’s we cut 3/4” glass with glass cutter, then used a cold chisel with ball peen hammer and gently tapped cut from underneath until it started to “run” and then fired up the torch and it finished the “run” and was a clean cut.

I wish I would have gotten this advice earlier. Could have tried it. Cutting with the tile saw was absolutely horrible. The original plan was a 16h but the cut went crooked and had to settle for a 15 high.

I’m impressed you did it with a tile saw blade! LOL
Looks good and it’s functional is all that matters.

Thanks. It had been you for about 16 months. So far so good
