DIY acrylic frag tank help

So I'm thinking about building my very first acrylic tank and would love some help.

Where is the best place to buy acrylic sheets?

What thickness should I go with for a 48 foot long and 12 inch tall tank?

I think I might be leaning toward making a glass tank. I didn't realIze how easy it was if your keeping your tank somewhat small. What material should I use for the overflow

Make a short overflow out of glass, then you can add a black acrylic outer cover. if you want ugly, inneficient overflow teeth, those would be cut out of the acrylic.

I just saw a post where someone just put two bulkheads off the back of the tank. Seems much easier. What do you think about that. Is noise or anything an issue
